Poole Sea Cadet’s 2022 Summer Camp Reaches a New High

More than 40 cadets and volunteers camped out under the stars and for many the literal highlight was the high ropes course.
High ropes are seen to be great for teamwork, whilst helping to conquer fears and building character.
Our cadets benefited from challenging themselves as they worked out how to get to climb to the next level whilst moving outside their personal comfort zones.
All this was undertaken in a fun yet closely supervised atmosphere.
For several cadets their vertigo was cured!
For some of the younger cadets it was the first time they had slept under canvas. They had received training on how to securely pitch a tent, for example, but putting this into practice in the great outdoors could have been a challenge. Failure they knew could lead to an uncomfortable night, but luckily this didn’t happen.
Many team building tasks and competitions were put into practice and map reading skills were added to the cadet’s abilities to navigate on the water.
Several said they cannot wait for next year.
