Pavilion Dance South West launches its user-friendly website, highlighting dance’s place in the digital age

Registered charity, Pavilion Dance South West (PDSW) is delighted to announce the launch of its innovative new website. The user-friendly design aims to enhance the digital experience for their customers and encourage new audiences to visit their theater and seafront dance studios.

The launch of PDSW’s website comes after years of collating valuable consumer insights, using key data to clearly understand its audience, the new website has been  tailored to meet the needs of the venue’s community. Having already developed the PDSW brand vision, CuCo Creative, a digital branding agency based in Bournemouth, were keen to revolutionise PDSW’s offering and bring the organiation’s successful and ever-growing profile into a new digital decade.

The popular dance charity is home to a 192-seat theatre, dance studios and an outdoor event terrace situated in Bournemouth’s scenic gardens. With a unique offering of performances and dance classes, PDSW needed a website that would be simple to navigate for its customers, staff and stakeholders.

CuCo Creative developed a website with User and Customer Experience at the forefront of the project. By implementing an arts management ticketing system called Spektrix into the build, allowed PDSW’s internal team to easily and effectively manage bookings, marketing and its fundraising platforms, all under one effective cloud-based system.

PDSW’s Marketing and Communications Managers, Lizzy Maries and Caroline Anstey, said: “We are extremely pleased with the new website and all its cutting-edge functions. Since the launch, the team has received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback from our stakeholders and customers.

We wanted to create a digital hub which allows our community to easily navigate their way to their favourite dance classes, book live performances, get connected on social media and keep up-to-date on our latest news. CuCo successfully built this and more. By providing our staff with a platform for internal communication we can now share valuable insights, strategically plan for future events and develop PDSW’s 2020 marketing plan.

Since the launch of the site there has been a steady increase in website traffic as more people engage with contemporary dance by booking tickets, classes and workshops online.

Highlights of the PDSW website include:

  • Accessibility – This tool allows visitors to tailor the way they view the website. It includes functions such as, increasing and decreasing text size, colours, highlighting links and click-throughs and legible font. The accessibility tool is an impressive navigation in which PDSW are proud to promote, as it supports a much larger range of user needs.
  • Video – Showcasing video content across the website enables site visitors to become captivated by movement.
  • Customer Experience – Filtering events on the ‘What’s On’ menu.
  • User Experience – Minimal clicks to find classes, latest news and performances.

With the new website in place, PDSW now has the tools reach a wider audience. With more visitors to the site they are not only promoting their work to transforming communities through dance, they are supporting a strong cultural profile for BCP and the surrounding areas.
