Poole Business Raises 5k for Local Children’s Charity

Living Home Tech in Poole raise almost £5k for Southampton Hospital’s Ward Charity, Piam Brown Ward.

Sold-Out Golf Event set to raise more – Friday 23rd July at Ashley Wood Golf Club.

•  The three Crutcher Brothers and co-Director who own Living Home Tech in Poole are overwhelmed with the response from friends, family, supporters, and clients alike to have raised almost five thousand pounds!
•  All proceeds go to the Piam Brown Ward Charity.
•  The Southampton charity say that just £5 could make the week of a child who is suffering a terminal illness by funding a prize draw gift for the child to select when they have been brave with their nurse, whilst £2000 could buy a replacement reclining parent chair for the bedside. Accompanying parents find themselves sitting for many hours next to the bed meaning that infection control standards can be met, and enable the parent to relax, without using the parent drop down bed or plastic visitors chairs, which are completely inappropriate.

The Piam Brown unit is an oncology and haematology centre caring for children from birth to 16 years and is one of 22 regional centres across the UK treating children and adolescents with cancer and haematological disorders. With a well-established shared care system with district general hospitals, they support families so that their child can have some of their treatment closer to home.

A host of sponsors and supporters have donated to the sold-out Golf Day, which is fundraising for the ward, set to occur Friday the 23rd of July at Ashley Wood Golf Club.

Homegrown local success story Living Home Tech set up in 2005 by three brothers, Wes, Wayne and Luke Crutcher, along with their would-be brother and long-term trusted associate Paul Clarke as a home cinema, smarthome and premium lighting installation and design service. The Crew wanted to share success with and build awareness for the vital charity.

The Piam Brown Unit has a 12-bed inpatient ward and a day care and outpatient area, supporting the whole family of a child who is being treated. Rachel Funnell, Piam Brown Ward Charity Coordinator for Southampton Hospitals Charity, said:
We are delighted that Living Home Tech is partnering with us, and we are excited to work with them during their fundraising challenges over the next year!
Our patients often face the biggest challenges of their lives whilst being treated on our ward, and your kindness and recognition means the world to our staff and patients, just knowing that somebody is thinking about them. Thank you
.”

With all 3 Directors being Dads themselves, Luke said:
Being parents gives you a different perspective. When you hear about what some families must overcome, it makes you want to do something to help. We wanted to make a real difference, to raise as much as possible, whilst also having the objective for everyone to have fun whilst doing it.

We are sharing a day with clients, suppliers and friends. Our objective is simple; fundraise as much as we can and know that families’ and children’s lives have been made that bit brighter from it.
