Ellis Jones Solicitors has marked International Women’s Day by revealing that four-fifths of its staff are female – a record for the firm.
It says that the figure of 79% – 132 out of 168 employees – shows its absolute commitment to gender equality.
Eleven out of 12 Associate Solicitors (91%), a third of its 17 Partners (29%), and five out of seven people in its Management team (71%) are also female.
International Women’s Day is on Sunday March 8 with the theme of #EachforEqual.
Ellis Jones, with six offices across the south coast in Bournemouth, Canford Cliffs (Poole), Christchurch, Ringwood, Swanage and Wimborne as well as London, is leading the way in a traditionally male-dominated profession.

Ellis Jones is also sponsoring Soroptimist International (SI) Bournemouth’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) Challenge for Year 8 and 9 girls.
The initiative’s ultimate aim is encourage more girls to choose STEAM subjects at university.
