Redundancy Support for Apprentices (and Employers)

The lack of economic growth and business during the lockdown has meant that many companies have had to make people redundant and this includes those who have taken on apprentices prior to the pandemic. Skills & Learning are part of a support network to help such apprentices and the employers that have had to make this decision. If this is you, please get in touch.

We are also looking for employers to extend their support to take one (or more) of these apprentices and enable them to at least finish their training.  You would still be eligible to claim the incentive payments. (Between £1500 and £3,000, dependent on the age of the apprentice.  See video **)

The Redundancy Support Service for Apprentices provides advice, guidance and access to a range of support services for Apprentices affected by redundancy. The Education Skills Funding Agency has released a short video to help explain the support that is available. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDmrTSUxWoA **

If you have been affected, whether you are an apprentice or an employer and would like to get in touch about how we might be able to help each other, then please contact our Business Outreach Officers: Teresa Barton & Julia Markus
