Rugby Lunch returns to Hoburne Holiday Park

The Rugby Lunch, hosted by Diverse Abilities, returns to Hoburne Holiday Park, Christchurch, following a break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year is the disability charity’s tenth Rugby Lunch and seeks to break through a grand total of £250,000 raised for children and adults across the county.

Karen Hay, events manager at Diverse Abilities, commented: “We’re so excited to see the return of the Rugby Lunch, it’s an important fundraising event for us and an excellent day for our guests – always a good laugh for everyone involved.

Gavin Hastings, former Scottish Rugby Union player, and David Flatman, pundit and former English Rugby Union player are this year’s guest speakers, with the afternoon’s proceedings hosted by Ross Goode.

Karen added: “There’s a limited number of tables still available for anyone interested in attending – individuals are also welcome to book – and we’d like to thank our sponsors for helping to make this event possible once again.”

The afternoon’s event is sponsored by Dixon Stewart, a law firm offering legal help and advice to individuals and businesses in and around Christchurch and the New Forest.

Helen Stewart from Dixon Stewart added: “At Dixon Stewart, it’s important for us to support our local community, and working with Diverse Abilities is a brilliant way to do so. We all always really enjoy the Rugby Lunch and would highly recommend it if you’re looking for something to do as a team now most people are reunited in the office.”

The sporting lunch kicks off at 11.45am with welcome drinks, before guests take their seats for a three-course meal and hear from the celebrity guest speakers. There will also be an opportunity to win the famous Knife, Fork and Spoon quiz, raffle, and auction lots, of which prizes are donated by local businesses and celebrities.
