Sam Godbold, Senior Manager, and Jacob Wornham, Audit Senior, Join Smith & Williamson’s Assurance and Business Services Department On The South Coast

Sam Godbold has joined Smith & Williamson, the accountancy, investment management and tax group’s Assurance and Business Services department on the South Coast as a senior manager.

Sam joins having previously worked at both Mazars and Grant Thornton as a Senior Manager within the Assurance team.

Sam commented: “I am thrilled to join the Assurance and Business Services team at Smith & Williamson, at a time where the firm is investing and growing locally. The range of clients at the firm, the depth and variety of complimentary services the firm can provide and its reputation for client relationships and services were the key drivers in joining.”

Jacob Wornham has also joined the same team as an Audit Senior, having previously worked at Carpenter Box as an Audit Senior.

Sam and Jacobs appointments have come at a key time for the office which is growing rapidly with an increasing focus on scale up, innovative and entrepreneurial businesses.  With the recent addition of the business outsourcing service in this office these key appointments continue to cement the commitment of the firm to the South Coast.

As the Innovation Zone key sponsor at Venturefest South being held on Thursday 1st March, the firm works with many innovative companies helping them raise funding through EIS investments and claim valuable tax credits through R & D tax credits relief.

Many of these innovative companies are Scale Up businesses and key to UK productivity.
