Savills south coast development team appoints two graduates and an apprentice

Savills has reinforced its commitment to its successful graduate programme by welcoming two graduate surveyors and an apprentice to the south coast development team.

Since 2007, Savills has welcomed over 700 graduates to its national programme and in 2020 won the Times Graduate Employer of Choice for Real Estate for the 14th consecutive year.

Beatrice Leonard and Jack Sadler have joined the team as graduate surveyors, while Annabel Vickery has joined as an apprentice.

Having graduated from the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester, where she studied Real Estate BSc (Hons), Beatrice will be working towards her Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) exams and qualifications with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). She has lived in Dorset for just over five years after moving from Surrey in 2015 and will be based at Savills Wimborne office.

She said: “I look forward to taking all the ‘textbook theory’ I learnt at university and applying it to real life industry scenarios to develop my knowledge and understanding to fully prepare me for the APC process.”

Jack has also joined the graduate scheme, having graduated from Oxford Brookes University, where he studied Real Estate BSc (Hons). He has previously worked part-time in a residential estate agency and had a three-month internship with a London based estate agent last summer. Jack, who has always lived on the West Sussex/Hampshire border, will be based at the firm’s Southampton office and will be working towards his APC on the valuation pathway to become a chartered surveyor.

“I feel incredibly lucky to have been given the opportunity to work for Savills and have already learnt a lot. The guidance is second to none and the breadth of opportunities are immense,” he said.

Annabel, who lives in Dorset, has joined the team in Wimborne as an apprentice, having completed her A levels at the Gryphon School in Sherborne.

She said: “I look forward to gaining my Level 3 business administration apprenticeship and hope to gain more responsibility within the development department and become a valuable part of the team.”

Colin Wilkins, head of Savills south coast development team, said: “We are committed to developing young talent through our graduate and apprentice programmes at Savills and are delighted to be welcoming Beatrice, Jack and Annabel to the team. They will work alongside our experienced teams in Wimborne and Southampton to develop their skills and knowledge as they progress in their roles at Savills while working towards their qualifications.”

Noel McGonigle, Savills Human Resources Director UK, says: “Savills is proud to have maintained all of its 104 graduate and sandwich placement offers for 2020 across the UK business, which is testament to the commitment and value that we put on our programme.

“In 2019, Savills recruited 127 graduates and sandwich placement students across the UK, so 2020 sees a slight reduction in numbers, however demand for graduates remains strong and we are continuing to recruit onto the programme outside of the central recruitment round.

“In light of Covid-19, the business has continued to adapt and our graduate programme induction this year will be a virtual learning programme, which will be interactive throughout to ensure our graduates are on-boarded into Savills effectively throughout these circumstances.”
