Speakers announced for Diverse Abilities’ Rugby Lunch

Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, has announced the speakers for its 10th anniversary rugby lunch at Hoburne Park, Christchurch, on Friday 17 September.

The Rugby Lunch includes great entertainment, networking opportunities, and guest celebrity appearances from Gavin Hastings – Scottish former rugby union player, widely regarded as one of the best ever Scottish rugby players, and David Flatman – former prop for Bath and the England national rugby team turned pundit.

Over the past 10 years the event has raised a combined total of more than £224,000, and it is hoped this year will reach a grand total of £250,000. Funds will be raised to ensure the charity can continue to make a difference to children and adults living with disabilities in the county, and their families.

Karen Hay, events coordinator at Diverse Abilities, said: “If you’re a rugby fan, then this is the perfect event for you, so get in quick and contact us to purchase your tickets. We’re so thrilled to have Gavin Hastings and David Flatman join us for the day – there’s sure to be some excellent stories.

Gavin Hastings added: “I’m really looking forward to coming down south for the Diverse Abilities Rugby Lunch, I’ve got some great anecdotes to share and it’s great to be supporting such a worthy cause.”
