Spetisbury Construction celebrates 40th anniversary with staff and reflects on journey

Dorset based Spetisbury Construction is celebrating its 40th year in business and marked the occasion with a celebratory family day with their close-knit team of staff, partners and children. The celebrations were held at the Captain’s Club in Christchurch.

Over 80 people enjoyed a relaxed and fun afternoon which included a BBQ, drinks, an acoustic guitarist and a magician who entertained all with his wizardry. Centre stage was a magnificent cake modelled on the company’s head office in Wimborne.

Established in 1984 Spetisbury Construction is an experienced and respected contractor boasting a reputation for quality & professionalism, value and high-end quality of service customer service and delivery.  With an impressive track record of working within healthcare, education and with commercial properties, the business also works in the high end, bespoke residential housing market and enjoys working with a diverse array of local, regional and national clients.

The business has some 44 staff and is based at Leigh House in Wimborne.

The Directors, Justin Ives, Richard Barker, Roy Cake and Martyn Openshaw advised, “It was wonderful to celebrate this special anniversary year with our staff, lots of them who have worked with us for many years, some for decades!  We’re fortunate to have such a great team of loyal staff and the event was an opportunity to say thank you for their commitment to the business.

“It has been good to reflect on the journey of the business and where we are at. 2024 has been a standout year for us, the busiest year to date and a return to normal trading levels following the pandemic.  The business is in a good place, we’ve got some brilliant projects on and we’re having many interesting conversations for future projects, with lots of pipelines of work.

“We are very proud to have acquired Leigh House in 2024. We’ve been resident there for 18 years but made the decision this year to bring the property within the company. It’s such an impressive landmark Georgian property that we all love working in.  It underpins our stature and presence in the local business community and beyond.  And therefore, it was fitting that our 40th birthday cake was designed as a mirror image of Leigh House!”
