Steele Raymond elects new Managing Partner – Jennifer Rogerson

The Partners of law firm Steele Raymond LLP have elected Jennifer Rogerson to the role of Managing Partner with effect from 1 January 2022.
The Partners have also re-elected Tim Stone to continue in his current role as the firm’s Chairman. Nick Davies continues in his position on the firm’s Board and Chris Twaits is resuming his position.

Jennifer’s election to managing partner comes after six years with the firm, the previous four of which she has been a key member of the firm’s management board. Prior to joining Steele Raymond, Jennifer gained significant experience working at both regional and national law firms.

Throughout her time at Steele Raymond, Jennifer has been instrumental in a number of landmark projects, including the creation of the firm’s award-winning trainee recruitment programme. The programme continues to nurture and develop high-quality solicitors, many of whom have been retained by the firm post-qualification.

Speaking following her election to Managing Partner, Jennifer said:

“Steele Raymond is an extraordinary boutique firm with great people and fantastic clients. The calibre of our people and their commitment to the highest levels of client service underpins everything that we strive to do and has been central to our success to date. I will be working hard to ensure that we maintain and build on these special qualities.
“The ethos of the firm has always been centred on providing excellent client service in relation to specialist areas of law delivered by highly experienced and capable teams, and I am looking forward to building on the strong platform for growth that we have already established”.

Jennifer takes over the Managing Partner role from Peter Rolph who has held the position for over 10 years.  Commercial litigation and construction specialist Peter will continue to head up the Dispute Resolution Team.
Peter commented:

“I have been very proud to have managed the firm for many years during a significant period of growth.  Now is an exciting time for Jennifer and the newly configured Board to take forward the management of the firm as we look forward to a further dynamic period in the firm’s development”.

Jennifer continued:

“It is an absolute privilege to have been elected by my fellow Partners to the position of Managing Partner. I want to say a special thank you to Peter who has dedicated himself to the role for many years and who will continue to play a significant part in the firm moving forward”.

This evolution of Steele Raymond’s management is yet another significant and exciting milestone for the Legal 500 ‘Top-Tier’ practice, an accolade achieved by the firm for the 17th consecutive year in 2021.  The firm is also now extremely proud to be included in The Times’ Best Law Firms.

The firm has placed a high importance on recruitment, appointing some of the South Coast’s leading talent in not only legal roles but in its operational and support functions as well. This focus has also seen landmark appointments from many of the region’s flagship law firms, including Commercial Partner and Legal 500 ‘Leading Individual’ Paula Eckton, Commercial Solicitor and Legal 500 ‘Rising Star’ Alexandra Clapp and Residential Development Partner and Legal 500 ‘Recommended Lawyer’ Chris Dolan.

Speaking on Jennifer’s election to Managing Partner and the future of the firm, Chairman Tim Stone said:

“Firstly, my personal thanks to Peter for an incredible amount of hard work, dedication and commitment during his many years as the firm’s Managing Partner.  I look forward to working with and supporting Jennifer and the new Board as the firm moves into another exciting phase of its strategic growth and development. The Board members bring a fantastic range of backgrounds, experience and talent to their roles which will help us further develop and grow the firm of which we are all very proud to be a part of”.

Jennifer concluded:

“I am excited to work alongside my fellow Partners in delivering the vision and strategy for the firm in its specialist markets”.
