Steele Raymond has launched a new brand and website as it continues a period of significant growth across the central south’s rural and industrial regions. The refreshed identity coincides with nearly doubling the size of the partnership in recent years, expanding specialist teams and opening new offices in the region – all while remaining independently owned and regionally rooted.
“This matters for the South Coast,” says Managing Partner Jennifer Rogerson. “When a regional firm grows in this way, it creates more capacity for projects and changes that shape our communities. You can see it in real outcomes resulting in growth that is intentional and grounded in the relationships we have built over many years.”
Over the last few years, the firm has nearly doubled in size – growing its partner group, broadening its specialist teams and aligning capacity to client demand across the region. New offices in Southampton and Poundbury bring Steele Raymond’s lawyers closer to clients across the central south’s rural and industrial regions, while maintaining a single-firm culture and joined-up way of working.
At the same time, the firm has strengthened its leadership with key appointments resulting in a growth strategy rooted in deep sector expertise, built around the needs of the region.
The firm once again achieved Top Tier status in The Legal 500, a position it has held for more than two decades. That long run in the top tier of an independently researched guide is a strong indicator of where the growth is coming from – consistent quality, deep specialism and client loyalty built over many years. For businesses, developers and families across the South, it signals dependable legal judgement behind the region’s growth.
The latest guide recognises eight Steele Raymond practice areas. Four are ranked Top Tier – Commercial Litigation, Commercial Property, Residential Development and Corporate & Commercial – with other specialist teams, including Contentious Trusts & Probate, Employment and Family, also strongly recommended. The rankings are underpinned by detailed research and supported by strong client recommendations, reflecting both the calibre of the work and the experience clients have on the ground.
“Our role is to see issues early, keep momentum and guide decisions that protect value,” says Chairman and Head of Corporate, Tim Stone. “Whether it is a sale, funding round or group restructure, clients choose us because of our extensive market experience and ability to bring clear commercial direction at the right time. It is ultimately our fantastic clients and amazing teams that enable us to celebrate this success.”
Head of Residential Development, Emma Stainwright, adds: “Development succeeds when legal, planning and funding move in step. We focus on anticipating pressure points, so sites progress and homes reach delivery.”
The new brand has been designed to express that combination of specialist strength and joined up support. The refreshed wordmark feels contemporary yet rooted in the firm’s history, while the coloured line that runs through it represents Steele Raymond’s DNA – the underlying support clients and teams feel as the firm grows. It is a visual thread that links over two decades of Legal 500 recognition with recent expansion across the central south, showing that growth here starts from the inside out. The DNA is unbroken – people working side by side, sharing insight and context so clients feel understood and get clear direction they can act on. This is the Steele Raymond difference – clear direction and connected thinking.
