Strategic Solutions take on the New Forest 100 Sportive to raise funds for Bournemouth Hospital Charity!
Strategic Solutions Financial Planners are proud to be taking part in the New Forest 100 Sportive on 19th September 2020, fundraising for the amazing Bournemouth Hospital Charity in the hope of giving something back to the local community.
The New Forest 100 cycling event is hugely popular and rated highly by previous riders who continue to come back year after year. Starting from the Somerley Estate, riders will weave through the New Forest with the first blushes of autumn colour present in the National Parks foliage.
Financial Advisers Paul Roberts and Rob Silk are keen cycle enthusiasts, although both have never taken part in any cycle related races or challenges as long as this. Rob Silk explains:
“By setting ourselves this challenge I hope we can raise awareness and vital funding towards Ward 11 at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. The treatment and support they give at such a difficult time for patients and families is absolutely amazing. Cancer has affected so many people close to me and I have seen first-hand that it’s the fantastic work of wards and centres such as this that make a world of difference”.
In 2015 Paul’s Dad was treated at Bournemouth Hospital during his battle with leukaemia which he unfortunately lost, and ever since Paul has wanted to give something back to help support the fantastic work that all at Bournemouth Hospital did during that time and in particular Ward 11 which treats cancer patients.
In more recent years, other members of the Strategic Solutions team have had friends who have been treated in Ward 11 and we all want to thank them in providing such amazing care to our friends and family under such difficult circumstances.
This cause will really make a difference to those undergoing treatment and looks to support several projects which aim to make a patient’s time at the hospital as comfortable and effective as possible, these include:
Employing a dedicated full-time cancer care specialist nurse, employing a part time cancer care social worker and offering yoga classes for cancer patients as well as providing Hospedia TV for cancer patients treated in Ward 11.
