Superior raises funds for Breast Cancer Now on ‘Wear It Pink’
Posted on: 15/11/2017
Superior, a leading manufacturer based in Dorset, supported ‘Wear It Pink’ at the end of October to raise valuable funds for Breast Cancer Now.
Superior staff wore something pink on Friday October 20 during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The manufacturing team raised a total of £723 for the charity by donating a minimum of £2 each to wear something pink.
Sarah Hickson, sales administrator at Superior, commented: “The Superior team thoroughly enjoyed dressing up in pink for ‘Wear It Pink.’ We’re delighted that this is the most we have ever raised when supporting this fundraising day – we raised £573 last year and we plan on making 2018 even more pink!”
Breast Cancer Now’s ‘Wear It Pink’ has raised over £30 million to date since it began in 2002. The UK-wide fundraising event raises money for life-saving research to discover how to prevent breast cancer, how to detect it earlier and how to treat it effectively at every stage. This year, more than 50,000 women will be told they have breast cancer. Breast Cancer Now hopes that with enough funding, by 2050, no-one will die from breast cancer.
Superior has its own company-run Academy, offering apprenticeships to students from as young as 16, through to graduates, giving apprentices the chance to learn about engineering, science and manufacturing. Working closely in conjunction with local schools and colleges, Superior’s aim is to get students of all ages interested in science and engineering.
