Talbot Village Trust helps school with library bus

Talbot Village Trust has donated £17,000 to Malmesbury Park Primary School to support the final stages of its library bus project.

The Bournemouth-based school has undertaken the project of renovating an old bus into a comfortable space for adults and children to enjoy a good book. Malmesbury Park Primary School’s idea behind the library bus is to encourage pupils to develop a love of reading.

Using the donation from Talbot Village Trust, the school was able to make the final payment towards the library bus which will be officially launched to children and parents next month.

Jackie Green, Headteacher at Malmesbury Park Primary School, commented: “The support we received from Talbot Village Trust has been instrumental in enabling us to complete this project. We are proud to now provide the children of Malmesbury Park with a high-quality learning environment. The library bus will be a place where they can foster a love of reading and learning, standing them in good stead for their future.”

Russell Lucas-Rowe, Trustee of Talbot Village Trust, added: “We are happy to have contributed to this project, it is both inspired and innovative. We hope both the children and their parents visit the new space often to relax while enjoying a good book. We look forward to seeing how the school inspires the children daily through their future projects.”

Talbot Village Trust meets biannually and is accepting applications for funding from both previous and new applicants in the area before the Trustees meet in spring 2020. Please go to www.talbotvillagetrust.org for more information
