Talbot Village Trust Launches Two New Grant Programmes

Talbot Village Trust, a local grant-giving charity that supports communities across Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole, East Dorset and Purbeck, has announced a refreshed approach to its grant-making, following a strategic review early this year.

The Trust, which has awarded over £10 million in charitable funding to local organisations over the past decade, has introduced two new grant programmes to better support the changing needs of the region.

The new Small Grants Programme is designed for smaller charities and community groups making a local impact, while the Capital Grants Programme supports organisations with at least one year of signed accounts and a well-defined capital plan.
Nick Ashley-Cooper, Chair of Talbot Village Trust, said: “We are excited to launch this refreshed funding approach, which puts community impact at its core. These new programmes reflect our long-term commitment to supporting organisations working on the frontlines of local change.”

“We’re committed to learning from this new approach and continuing to work closely with the local sector. In 2024 alone, we granted over £1 million to more than 70 organisations, helping strengthen our community and voluntary sector, and deliver positive change. Our goal is to be a responsive and thoughtful funder, and we’ll be listening to feedback as these new programmes take shape.”

The Small Grants Programme, offers grants of up to £5,000 from a total funding pot of £100,000. The programme is open to organisations with an annual turnover under £250,000.  Funding decisions are expected by end of October 2025.

The Capital Grants Programme offers funding for capital costs over £10,000, and the total funding pot for this round is £250,000. This programme is intended to support meaningful, long-term investments in facilities, buildings, or equipment. Funding decisions for the Capital Grants Programme are expected by end of November 2025.

Applications for both programmes are now open and can be submitted via the Talbot Village Trust website: https://talbotvillagetrust.org/grants/application-form/

The deadline to apply for both programmes is Sunday, 31 August 2025 11:59pm. Early submissions are encouraged, and applicants are welcome to reach out to Talbot Village Trust with any questions or for further guidance ahead of the deadline.
