The Way Forward project: helping talented people who have been financially impacted by COVID-19

BCHA’S The Way Forward project would like to hear from employers interested in recruiting talented people who have lost their jobs or been financially impacted by COVID-19.

The Way Forward started in March 2021 and is a unique skills and coaching programme for the BCP area, which helps participants identify their transferable skills and access training, education and routes into employment.

The Way Forward project manager Val Jefferies said: “We are working hard with individuals identifying transferable skills to enable them to move into areas such as Hospitality, Digital, Technology and Health and Social Care.

“And we are already seeing great results; with seven people having achieved accredited learning, five people having gained paid employment and more having secured job interviews.”

Val continued: “We have many talented individuals coming through The Way Forward, who are proactively seeking work.

“We would like to hear from employers who are interested in learning how they can recruit great employees from The Way Forward and also individuals who could benefit from joining the programme.

“We can also help with employers’ recruitment needs at no cost.”
