UK South Coast-based supplier Tower has landed a prestigious Distributor of the Year win at the annual Safety & Health Excellence (SHE) Awards. Held at The NEC in Birmingham on 26 April, the SHE awards celebrate innovation and achievements in health and safety. They also encompass the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) Awards that promote the importance of innovation and high standards of excellence within occupational safety and health.
The family-owned company has been in business for 40 years and has earned a reputation for supplying high-quality safety workwear, uniform, PPE, hygiene products, and safety equipment to leading brands such as P&O Cruises, AA, Serco, SSE, Anglian Water, and Red Funnel. After an incredible performance during 2022 in customer service, innovation, and sales growth, they have now been recognised with one of the event’s most sought-after awards.
Tower offer an extensive range of 250,000 products to a wide range of working environments including power, utilities, cruise, marine, facilities management, automotive, and government. And to meet the growing demands of their customer base, Tower invested in people to grow their team by 37% between January and December 2022 and added a new 64,000 sq. ft. distribution centre to their operations in Dorset to cater specifically for the cruise industry.
Tower was also recognised for their dedication to sustainability, introducing eco-friendly and sustainable products to their range, demonstrating their commitment to environmental sustainability, and supporting customers with their own goals by providing solutions and services that help them reduce, reuse, and recycle. They have also teamed up with Amber, an award-winning energy management consultancy, to progress their Net Zero journey.
Investing in technology, Tower further developed their CtrlCloud online ordering platform. CltrCloud puts customers in complete control, increasing efficiency and delivering cost savings of up to 20%. The improvements have made it even easier to create tailored catalogues and allocate products. Tower’s new product information management (PIM) has also been developed to help sales teams find and recommend products more quickly and efficiently.
Tower’s CEO, Charlie Aris said: “2022 will go down in Tower’s history as a benchmark for progress when it comes to customer safety, excellence, and satisfaction in a 12-month period. By working, evolving, and learning together, we are now achieving goals that were only recently believed to be unattainable. To be recognised by winning the prestigious Distributor of the Year at the SHE Awards is a proud moment for myself and Tower. It’s also a perfect way to celebrate 40 years in business.
