Trethowans is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Worrall as Partner and Head of Restructuring & Insolvency. A highly experienced insolvency solicitor, Peter predominantly specialises in contentious corporate and personal matters, including misfeasance and breach of duty claims against directors, as well as advising directors who are responding to claims from insolvency practitioners.
Peter regularly acts for Administrators, Liquidators and Trustees in Bankruptcy, helping them to realise assets for the benefit of creditors. He is also experienced in obtaining urgent interim orders, such as Freezing Orders and other injunctions. In addition, Peter advises creditors and stakeholders on their rights within insolvency processes and assists insolvency practitioners with complex issues arising in relation to insolvent estates or individuals.
Peter has worked on high-value, multi-jurisdictional cases, including the administration of Awal Bank in Bahrain involving over $2 billion in creditor claims, and the insolvency of Global Steel Holdings Ltd linked to steel tycoon Pramod Mittal. Peter advises a broad range of clients, including insolvency practitioners, banks and lenders, directors and their businesses, secured and unsecured creditors, LPA Receivers, debtors, shareholders, litigation funders and private individuals.
Having spent the past four years in London developing his practice, most recently as a Partner, Peter’s appointment reinforces Trethowans’ commitment to delivering exceptional advice in restructuring and insolvency matters. His depth of expertise will be invaluable to clients navigating financial difficulties and contentious insolvency issues.
