Trethowans unveils four appointments as it continues to grow

Regional law firm Trethowans has bolstered its team with four significant appointments in Dorset and Wiltshire. It comes as the firm celebrates six months since opening a new base in Bournemouth and turns up the heat on its growth plans.

James Kidner and Linden Talbot both join the Bournemouth office as part of the commercial team, offering services to businesses across the town and further afield. James heads up Trethowans’ new commercial property team in Bournemouth, coming on board as a partner.  He has more than a decade’s experience in the legal industry, specialising in land acquisition and assembly for clients across a range of sectors.

James, who competes in triathlons in his spare time, said: “Business really is booming in Bournemouth and it’s an exciting place to be, particularly as a commercial property lawyer. There are some fantastic deals and work being done, resulting in a lot of movement within the market and I’m looking forward to helping our clients pave the way for growth.”

He is joined in Bournemouth by Linden Talbot, a solicitor in the commercial litigation team. Linden will advise Trethowans’ growing client base in Bournemouth on a range of matters, with a particular focus on commercial and residential property litigation and contractual disputes.

Meanwhile, Trethowans’ Salisbury team sees two new faces in its agricultural division. Amanda Inch joins as a partner, with an enviable track record in helping clients with rural matters over the last 20 years. Her past experience includes advising on the sale and purchase of farms and estates, solar farm leases, and acting for farming partnerships on dissolution.

Amanda, who has relocated from Somerset to join Trethowans, said: “I truly love a challenge, in fact the more complex a case the better. I’m looking forward to getting beneath the surface of issues Trethowans’ clients are facing and helping them achieve the very best outcome.”

She is joined by Sabrina Sleeman-Hiscock, who comes to Trethowans as a solicitor. Sabrina started her career in the legal industry as a paralegal in 2013 before completing a training contract and qualifying as a solicitor in March 2016. She has experience in various areas of agricultural and residential property and particularly enjoys working on voluntary first registrations.

All four appointments signify Trethowans’ commitment to achieving its ambitious growth plans. The firm has outlined plans to become a £20m turnover business and a top 100 UK practice by 2020.

Managing partner Chris Whiteley said: “The last year has been one of significant growth and we fully expect that to continue into 2019 and beyond. It’s therefore vital that we have the right team to advise our clients across the region. I’m thrilled to announce these four new appointments and know they have exactly what it takes to help our clients achieve their own growth ambitions.”
