Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, is to hold its first ever Christmas Shop this festive season.
The Christmas Shop is the perfect place to buy a meaningful Christmas gift for friends and family, which in turn help the charity support children and adults living with physical and learning disabilities, and their families.
The Christmas Shop offers a range of virtual gift to provide support across the whole charity. Gifts start at £8 to give a child with profound physical and learning disabilities the chance to participate in a Sensory Sport session. Gifts also include Outdoor Therapy for an adult with disabilities for £16, or a special Christmas Meal for £13. With every gift that is purchased, a card will be sent to the recipient, whether that be a friend, family member or colleague, with an insert showing how this year’s Christmas present has made a difference to someone who is supported by Diverse Abilities.
The shop is open online until Monday December 18, as well as a physical pop-up shop at The Dolphin Shopping Centre on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 December.
Helen Mortimer, head of fundraising at Diverse Abilities, commented: “We are really excited to launch our first ever Christmas Shop to give people chance to give a Christmas gift that lives beyond the festive season. Through the Christmas Shop on our website you can browse our Christmas gifts and find out a bit more about who your donation will support. We will also be hosting our first pop-up shop at The Dolphin Shopping Centre if you’d prefer to buy in person and have a chat with our fundraising team and volunteers.”
To shop online visit diverseabilities.org.uk/christmasshop or visit in person on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 December between 10am – 4pm at the Dolphin Centre.
