Volunteer For Charity’s Tree-Cycling Scheme

Extend the season of goodwill into January and do your bit for the environment by joining the Diverse Abilities team of volunteer Christmas tree collectors, helping to raise funds for the Dorset charity that supports children and adults living with disabilities in the county.

Tree collections will be taking place on the Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 January, and volunteers are required to help collect Christmas trees in Poole, Bournemouth and East Dorset. Or, if you or someone you know are able to lend, or even drive, a van to collect the trees, the charity would be very grateful.

community fundraiser at Diverse Abilities, said: “We would be extremely thankful to anyone who contributes and can help us over the first weekend of January. Collectors play a pivotal role in ensuring that the scheme runs smoothly and that the pre-booked trees are collected promptly.

“This will be the third year of collecting and recycling Christmas trees following the huge success the previous two years. Last year we collected 447 trees and raised £3,469, thanks to the local community signing up to recycle their festive tree and our fantastic volunteers for supporting us.”

If you would like to volunteer and help Diverse Abilities to collect trees or lend the charity a van over the weekend, please get in touch with nicole.warrilow@diverseabilities.org.uk or call 01202 718266.
