WARNING: Check Your Photocopier Contract!

A small number of photocopier suppliers throughout Dorset have been including onerous terms & conditions hidden deep within their contracts.

Chamber members and local photocopier supplier Condor first noticed this practice when they received several calls from local businesses asking to help get them out of their existing contract as they had been charged a considerably higher fee than agreed.

After reviewing their contracts Condor were shocked to notice a pattern of hidden costs such as “unrestricted annual increases”. In some cases businesses had in fact been charged 3x the rate they thought they had agreed. The offending parties tend to lure trusting businesses in with amazingly cheap headline prices – only to claw back the money throughout the contract. If it looks too good to be true – it probably is!

Thankfully, there are still a number of reputable photocopier suppliers throughout Dorset and you may well be using one. However, it does no harm to double check your contract.
