A TV advert all about what makes Westbourne great is soon to hit TV screens thanks to Bournemouth Coastal BID.
The Sky TV commercial will be broadcast to around 250,000 households which lie within a 15 mile radius of the suburb.
The Coastal BID, which has recently been re-elected for another five-year term, launched the commercial as part of its campaign to promote all its areas.
They include Pokesdown, Southbourne, Boscombe, East Cliff and West Cliff including the seafront, and Westbourne.
Paul Clarke, chairman of the BID, said: “Westbourne has so much to offer and we wanted to let people know about it.
“Our businesses asked whether we could promote Westbourne on a grand scale, and an advert seemed like a cost-effective way of reaching many people and presenting Westbourne to them in the comfort of their own homes.
“We want to encourage them to visit and to enjoy everything that there is – not just the glorious beach.
“Westbourne has wonderful independent shops of all types, selling everything from home interior goods to antiques, fashion and jewellery.
“There are plenty of cafes and coffee shops and it has a vibrant night-time economy including bars, pubs and restaurants.
“It includes a famous Victorian arcade designed by Henry Joy that is as vibrant now as it was when it opened in the 1880s.
“We were especially pleased with the advert because we used local companies to make it, including Global Brand Communications, which is based in Boscombe.
“This ad follows on from a number of projects and now we have been re-elected other events and installations will follow.”
The campaign is also encouraging visitors to Westbourne to snap themselves in front of a business and post it to Facebook or Instagram with the #LoveWestbourne hashtag.
