Wimborne Manufacturer Takes Silver At National Business Awards

Superior, a Wimborne-based manufacturer, has been named runner-up at the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards held in London last week.

Superior, a leading manufacturer of high integrity o-rings and seals, which employs 200 people, took home silver for the Business Growth Award, which is given in recognition of a company delivering dynamic business growth through a consistent growth strategy.

Superior was selected by a panel of judges drawn from business leaders, industry experts and academics and was up against tough competition from a range of dynamic businesses, small and large, from across the UK.

Judges were impressed with their story of continued investment in the family business, which has led to constant growth in exports and development of apprentices.

Katie Bodman, head of training academy at Superior, said: “We are always trying to innovate and push ahead with new ideas, so to win this award and to have our success recognised is a great accomplishment and a well-deserved complement to our team. This truly gives our business growth strategy the seal of approval. We hope our success will inspire other manufacturers and encourage them to share their achievements”

Stephen Phipson, CEO at EEF, said: “Business growth is critical to the success of companies, local communities and the UK as a whole. Superior is a great example of a company that has seized the initiative, created its own opportunities and has grown stronger and more resilient as a result. This is justly deserved and we wish Superior continued growth success in the future.”
