Paddy’s Purpose Workshop for Children

The Dorset Children’s Foundation (DCF) was set up in 2013 to improve the lives of local sick and disabled children.

We fund medical expenses, mobility equipment and therapies not covered by the NHS, to help improve the lives of children with disabilities, over and above pure medical necessities.

The Dorset Children’s Foundation seeks to enhance the quality of life for children depending on their individual needs. So that they can gain improved movement, overcome isolation, which in turn benefits their self-esteem and helps them to play a larger part in the society around them, be that with family or at school.

Gemma Cardona started Paddy’s Purpose with a desire to have children, like her son Paddy, be accepted and not feared. To make people think and challenge how the world sees disability.  In an increasingly accessible world it is more important than ever that disability is talked about and where better to start than with today’s children. So Paddy’s Purpose was born and is a relaxed, entertaining and interactive workshop conducted in local schools and children’s groups.
