Dolphin Shopping Centre partners with Borough of Poole to provide Christmas presents for vulnerable children

The Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole has partnered with the Borough of Poole’s 0-19 Early Help Teams to provide Christmas presents to vulnerable children and low income families in Poole.

Residents and business are encouraged to drop off Christmas presents for children and families that are living in poverty. The Dolphin Shopping Centre is a drop-off point and those interested in supporting the campaign, should leave presents with centre management. The shopping centre will accept presents any time from now until 5pm on Monday December 17.

Lisa King, retail liaison manager, commented: “As a local organisation, we’re pleased to be able to support the council’s Christmas appeal and help ensure that children have a present to open on Christmas morning. For some, Christmas is not the most joyous of times and we want to encourage residents and businesses across Poole to donate presents in order to relieve some of the pressure that the festive period can generate.”

Councillor White of Borough of Poole, commented: “We are pleased to be working in partnership with the Dolphin and are hugely appreciative of the generosity shown by residents and businesses who can kindly donate gifts to this initiative. Hopefully there will be many more smiles across Poole on Christmas morning as a result of the kind gestures of all involved.”

All presents collected by the Dolphin Shopping Centre will be distributed to families identified by 0-19 Early Help Teams. Closer to Christmas, Borough of Poole staff will wrap the presents and deliver them to nominated families.
