Donation helps towards a computer and the training of a puppy.

The charity, Helpful Hounds Assistance Dogs, received a donation to help towards the purchase of a computer and the training of a puppy!

The organisation purchases and trains its own specially selected puppies, as well as helping families to train their own dogs, in order to help significantly change a young person’s life and that of their families.

Peter Rufus is a Trustee and the CEO (Volunteer).

“We have been in existence for two years now, the second of which has been as a registered charity,” Peter commented. “We are very grateful to the donation from J.P. Morgan which has proved to be extremely beneficial, especially, at this point in our growth.”

The trained dogs are able to support vulnerable children, those with Autism, Down’s syndrome, PTSD as well as those within Special Needs Schools.

19 dogs are currently undertaking their training with families and, in addition we have been able to place two within Schools.  The feedback we continue to receive shows, very clearly, the difference these Helpful Hounds are making.”

The computer that has been purchased has already been put to good use and is used for marketing purposes, day to day administration, communicating with the Helpful Hounds team and for printing and sending information.

Lottie Forte, a member of the J.P. Morgan Community Relations Committee, went to meet a couple of the dogs and their trainers.

“It was great to hear about the work the charity carries out and we are delighted to have been able to help in this way,” says Lottie.

J.P. Morgan employs 4,000 people at its technology and operations centre in Bournemouth and has a strong history of community engagement.
