Charity launches micro-volunteer programme

As part of its Volunteers Week celebrations, Diverse Abilities has launched a micro-volunteer programme.

Micro-volunteering offers a series of small and easy tasks that can be done anytime and anywhere. Anyone aged 16 or over with internet access can sign up and help to make a difference, often without leaving their own home.

While the government’s lockdown measures are eased, all Diverse Abilities activities will be online based, including social media, website testing, and researching. Volunteers can pick and choose which activities they would like to complete, and most activities should take less than 30 minutes to complete.

Cat Abbott, marketing manager at Diverse Abilities, commented: “Our volunteers are such a huge part of what makes our fundraising successful every year, and there are so many small opportunities where having more thoughts, opinions and assistance can make a massive difference.

“If you want to help a local cause but are pushed for time, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Activities can be completed anywhere – whether you’re walking to work or waiting for the kettle to boil – and it helps to give you a taste of what we’re all about.”
