Sydney goes 100% renewable so can we

From July 1, Sydney became a wholly renewable hub, with all operations powered by 100 per cent renewable energy. Originating from local sources, a power purchase agreement will see street lighting, buildings, sports facilities and even the Town Hall operate under this sustainable resource.

Dorset based U4L are committed to 100% renewable energy and striving to achieve Net Zero for its clients.

Business Relationship Manager Martin Bell said of the news; “Well done Sydney it is a possibility for Dorset. I am on a mission to work hard to get Bournemouth, then Dorset and then the UK to 100% renewable energy use. It is not an if but a when scenario. Who will be the first town in the country to do it? What county will be the first, what country will be the first? It will happen, it must happen. 2030 is less than a decade away and there is so much to do.”

On the back of news from Sydney, U4L are urging Care Groups, Commercial Groups, Hospitality Groups all Business Groups to start engaging with their energy suppliers to discuss and plan the journey to Net-Zero.

“Many businesses don’t know what their business carbon output is, or what savings can be made switching to 100% renewables and how much of a difference that can make to the environment.” added Martin.

U4L use only British 100% renewable energy supply partners for our customers that have started their journey, keeping the money within UK economy.
