Lockdown inspires digital transformation for LiveWell Dorset

During lockdown, the team at LiveWell Dorset commercial have been busier than ever, re-engineering their product offering, reaching out to new clients, finding new methods of communication, and refreshing their brand image.

“I think it’s because I like to be in control!” says Julia Calleja. “In a commercial marketplace where there are so many unknowns, my first thought was to get busy controlling what I could.”

As a not-for-profit business entity, LiveWell Dorset commercial was facing, like many other businesses, a loss of revenue and a diminishing pipeline of future business.

Maintaining contact with our clients and prospects in a meaningful way has therefore been a priority, prompting us to innovate and look at how we could be of service and support in other ways.

HR and Occupational Health & Safety teams have been particularly stretched, overwhelmed with concern for the wellbeing of their staff. This prompted us to create a free webinar series to bring them together to share best practices as they plan a return to work.

‘Julia’s expertise and experience have made an invaluable contribution to our work supporting colleagues’ personal well-being during the pandemic. Her zoom sessions have been relevant and timely, and I’ve welcomed the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with a network of peers from a cross-section of businesses in the area.’ Liz Rodgers, Brittany Ferries

These sessions have taken our relationships with our clients to a whole new level. We have been able to competently share our experience, building trust and respect through collaboration which has enabled us to talk to clients more about our consultancy services.

“LinkedIn has been our chosen channel of communication, helping us stay in touch daily with our audience and gather a sense of the current feeling amongst local businesses. We’ve found ourselves writing and publishing articles a lot more, which have proved popular to a much wider audience,” Says Polly Durrant; “and now that we have that connection, our brand needs to reflect more of a corporate image.”

Prompted by increased demand for us to provide training for colleagues in the healthcare sector – specifically our Managing Stress and Building Resilience and Wellbeing Champions courses – we prepared all of our training materials so that they can be delivered virtually.

Like many businesses, digital transformation has been brought to the fore, and we are now able to provide all of our courses as interactive webinars, something we had never considered before.

In a recent poll, 60% of companies said they would prefer to return to face-to-face classroom training delivery in preference to online learning when things return to normal, but at least now we can offer our clients – particularly those with branches elsewhere in the country – an option.

This has opened up a surprising new business opportunity for us:
From September, we will be scheduling open Training courses so that companies can access training for much smaller numbers and without the need to provide training facilities. Of course, there will be concessions for Chamber members.
