Smith & Williamson holds third virtual Business Breakfast Club

Smith & Williamson’s South Coast office has hosted its third virtual Business Breakfast Club. The regular event, which continues to grow in popularity, is a platform for the firm’s experts to share insights on topical issues and was attended by more than 100 leaders representing businesses and organisations from the diverse sectors that the region attracts.

At time of continuing uncertainty, the Breakfast Club provides thought leadership ideas on key issues and changes that are affecting businesses and people’s day-to-day lives.

Despite the uncertainty, Andrew Edmonds, Managing Partner of Smith & Williamson’s South Coast office was positive about the future and said: “We are seeing many businesses in the South that have adapted. Many have changed how they operate, the services they offer and how they access their customers despite everything that is going on around them. It is inspiring to see the positive effects of this.” He added: “In the vast majority of cases, clients are doing better than the forecasts they prepared early in the pandemic predicted.

Chris Copley, Managing Partner Tilney South Coast team, joined the panel discussion and gave an overview of its financial planning and investment management capabilities. Smith & Williamson completed its merger with Tilney on 1 September to create the Tilney Smith & Williamson Group. Chris shared Andrew’s positivity and said “We have seen market volatility in spades since March when the pandemic first hit the UK. With falling market values this has been an opportunity for some to get into markets where they are seeing the benefit of rising values and some very good uplift.
