FOCUS ON RECRUITMENT: Is your Recruiter your Business Partners?

Recruitment Agencies. They’re all the same…aren’t they?

Having worked in the recruitment industry for in excess of 30 years I have seen some exceptionally good recruiters and some shockingly bad ones!

Recruitment agencies charge a fee for their services!  That’s right it’s not free.  So shouldn’t employers be a little more interested in what they are getting for their money?

Next time you are recruiting, ask yourself:
1. Have I met my recruiter?
2. Did they make an effort to understand not only the job role but my organisation and what we stand for?
3. Were they an expert in their field and able to offer market advice and information?
4. Did they explain fully their recruitment process in full and what you were actually going to get for your money?

And importantly does your recruiter stay in touch with you even when you aren’t recruiting?
Effective recruiting isn’t lifting a CV from a website and emailing it to a vacancy and then charging the client a fee for very little effort.  Effective recruitment is about understanding your candidate and your client so that you can make the best possible match for the long term. It is also about building lasting relationships for both candidates and clients that are built on trust.

Mploy have worked with some of our clients for just under 20 years and our candidates return to us when they are ready to make the next step in their careers, can your agency honestly say the same?
