Lodmoor Country Park in Weymouth was glowing at the end of September as hundreds of runners took part in the first Dorset Neon Run, in aid of Diverse Abilities – the local charity that supports children and adults living with disabilities in Dorset.
Event participants glowed with pride and lit up the park as they ran the 5k course donning their neon paint, tutus, glow sticks and bracelets.
Local radio station Wessex FM supported the event and provided sizzling sounds throughout the night and local Clubbercise instructor Leah, got everyone in the party mood by hyping up the crowds with a fun-filled warm up before they set off for the run.
Congratulations go to first place winner Anya Paddock with a fantastic time of 22 minutes, 22 seconds, closely followed by Bradley Mallet in second place and David Rosser from Medisave UK in third.
Ashley Weedon, fundraising manager at Diverse Abilities, said: “We were thrilled with the turnout at our first Dorset Neon Run in Weymouth. Everyone looked amazing in their neon bling and had a great time while raising funds for Diverse Abilities. A big thank you goes to everyone that took part and helped us deliver such a great event.”
The next Dorset Neon Run will take place in Poole Park on Saturday 21 April and is open to anyone over the age of 12.
