Talbot Heath pupil, Faith Bellamy, enjoyed displaying her superb cookery skills on television after recently featuring in the Big Family Cooking Showdown on BBC2.

Winner of TH’s own Bake-Off competition three years ago, 15-year-old Faith is already well known for her brilliant baking skills and she showcased these to the nation, alongside her mother and sister, with their Iranian inspired recipes. Possibly following in the footsteps of former TH pupil and celebrity chef, Fanny Craddock, Faith said how much she loves to cook and regularly creates family meals in between her GCSE studies. Although the Bellamys did not make it through to the semi-finals, Faith said how much she enjoyed taking part: ‘It was a fascinating experience filming and cooking for the television, especially noting how much editing takes place, but it was particularly exciting to have Zoe Ball visit us in Bournemouth.’
The Food and Nutrition department at Talbot Heath have recently moved kitchens to a newly refurbished cookery suite for the girls to create and cook. The Talbot Heath MasterChef and Bake-Off awards, cake decorating competitions and Leith Cookery School courses are amongst many of the food inspired activities offered by Food and Nutrition teacher, Joy Moran, at the school.
