Theo Paphitis is one of the former dragons from TV show Dragons Den, and he created Small Business Sunday, shortened to hashtag #SBS on Twitter, in 2010.
We will be going along to Theo’s SBS winners’ event in Birmingham to meet the high profile businessman. The event is held yearly for the 0.68% of applicants who win the accolade.

Bournemouth ‐based firm has received a business boost from Retail Entrepreneur Theo Paphitis. In January, Mr Simon Rowe, owner of Mortgage Squared Ltd, tweeted Theo about his business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was picked as a weekly winner to gain a retweet by Theo to his 500,000 Twitter followers. The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, now has over 2500 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK.
Business and retail entrepreneur and self-confessed Shopkeeper, Theo re‐tweeted Simon’s message to his almost 500,000 followers and as a result, @MortgageSquared has hundreds more followers and increased demand for their mortgage and protection advice. They are also profiled on the #SBS website (www.theopaphitissbs.com) that is exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.
