Charity awards to thank extraordinary people

Diverse Abilities held its 6th annual ‘Thank You Awards’ to acknowledge and celebrate the extraordinary people connected to the Dorset-based charity that supports children and adults living with disabilities in the county.

Categories include Employee Achievement Award, Corporate Support Award, Volunteer/Volunteer Team of the Year, Outstanding Contribution, Individual Fundraiser of the Year, Individual we support who’s achieved something remarkable, and Staff team who’s gone above and beyond.

This year’s award winners included Tom Daubney, for his supportive work in the Children’s Team; The Beehive team for operating with positivity and accommodating support around a large building project; Colten Care received the corporate supporter award for its long-term partnership and supporting the charity in a multitude of ways including events, sponsorship, and volunteering.

Mark Aitchison, Colten Care Chief Executive, said: “We always want to be a good neighbour and build lasting community relationships. We’re delighted to be partnering with Diverse Abilities in so many ways. This is an amazing charity that works extremely hard with the resources it has for the enormous benefit of children and families. We are only too happy to do what we can to help.”

Charlotte Curtis, head of business resources at Diverse Abilities, said: “We see the great job that our staff do day-in day-out, how committed our volunteers and supporters are to the charity and the achievements that the people we support accomplish. We continue to run these awards as a wonderful way to be able to express how thankful we are to such extraordinary people. If you know of anyone that fits into one of the categories, please put them forward and help them realise how inspiring they are.”
