Countdown is on to Dorset Neon Run

Dorset Neon Run, the 5k fun run at Poole Park, will take place on Saturday May 22 in order to raise funds for Dorset’s disability charity, Diverse Abilities.

Those taking part can expect an evening of bright colours, music provided by HOT Radio, and a sunset start time; allowing the neon colours to brighten as participants reach the finish line. A series of updates have been made to the format of the event inline with the current COVID-19 legislation and will be reviewed regularly. These include social distancing measures, staggered starts, multiple registration desks, and more.

Karen Hay, event manager at Diverse Abilities, commented: “We’re so pleased that the Dorset Neon Run is able to go ahead this year, it will be our first fundraising event for almost 18 months and it’s definitely one of our favourite events. There’s still room to sign up and get involved – we can promise you’ll have a fantastic night with entertainment provided by HOT Radio.

Collective Conditioning joins as a sponsor of the event. Collective Conditioning is 5,000 square foot family run strength and conditioning gym based in Poole. Providing more than 35 small group classes a week which are fun and accessible to all ranging from daily workouts, yoga, weightlifting, strongman, team workouts and gymnastics. Opened in late 2020 Collective is a brand-new facility with state-of-the-art equipment and high-level coaches. The gym has a small play area so parents can bring children and welcome all members of the family with kid’s classes starting in summer 2021.

Nick Rouse, head coach and owner at Collective Conditioning, added: “Community is at the heart of our gym, which is why we wanted to get involved with the Dorset Neon Run and help support a local event. Although we’ve only been open a short time. we have completed two charity events as a gym and we’re really excited to get involved in the fun run. We want to spread the message that exercise is fun and inclusive whilst also having a great time on the night ourselves.

Entries start at £15 with fundraising options available. All participants receive a race t-shirt, medal, glow pack, and fundraising support.
