Age Space Dorset teams up with Preston Redman

Age Space Dorset has teamed up with law firm Preston Redman to add to its county-wide information base for people seeking advice and support for elderly parents and relatives.

Based in Bournemouth, Preston Redman is one of the leading law firms in Dorset specialising in providing legal services to both individuals and companies.

Age Space, (www.agespace.org) dubbed: “The Mumsnet for the middle-aged”, has been set up to offer practical help, advice and support for anyone caring for or supporting an increasingly frail or dependent parent or relative in Dorset and its online community also provides a friendly forum to let off steam or seek answers.

Age Space co-founder Annabel James says: “I am delighted that Age Space Dorset now has Preston Redman as one of its partners.

“We know that there are some big questions involving legal issues that arise and Preston Redman will be able to provide a wealth of advice and useful tips.

“Whether it’s about wills, or the sensitive matter of creating a power of attorney, Age Space can help by providing clear and relevant information.”

Preston Redman partner Rebecca Kefford said: “We are delighted to be involved with Age Space.  It’s a much-needed resource when more and more older people in Dorset are facing potentially difficult decisions about their old age.

“We provide a range of services and look forward to working together across the county.  This link up comes at a particularly good time for Preston Redman when we are growing our team with Richard Smith joining us from another local firm to add further expertise to our already well developed team.”

The Dorset Age Space site signposts to services across Dorset, and offers guidance on all aspects of elderly care, particularly around funding and choosing care; there is a directory of Dorset-based services for elderly people, a calendar of local activities, forums, blog posts and articles from partners including Poole-based Prama and Poundbury Wealth Management in Dorchester.
