Chris embarked on her Tops Day Nurseries journey at Tops Musgrove Nursery as a devoted Room Supervisor. Her steadfast dedication and commendable abilities saw her progressing through roles, from Deputy Manager to Manager at Mini Mariners.
Chris didn’t stop there, her versatility extended beyond managerial roles, spanning areas like SEN, Safeguarding, and Health and Wellbeing. Her recent transition to the People Team as an Agency Assistant is a testament to her adaptability, showcasing her valuable contributions to this department.
Among her proudest moments was achieving an ‘outstanding’ grade from Ofsted at Mini Mariners. Throughout her tenure, Chris has embodied Tops’ core values, fostering teamwork and strong relationships within the organisation.

Chris Champion reflected on her Tops journey; “My journey within the company has been quite remarkable, spanning two decades and involving various roles and a strong commitment to the company’s growth and values.
I have contributed towards multiple nursery successes. I have made strategic decisions, managed budgets, and always ensured a nurturing and educational environment for children, sharing best practices and providing guidance to others to contribute to the company’s overall growth.
My testament of leadership and organisational skills has always been recognised. The fact that people within the company have believed in me and supported my career progression has made a significant impact on where I am now. I am grateful for all the support I’ve ever received.
I hope and know that my impact on the company and commitments to making a positive difference in the lives of children has been a journey that I have enjoyed and loved throughout my 20 years’ service within Tops Day Nurseries.
