Creditplus and SafeWise promote road safety

  • SafeWise, the Bournemouth-founded charity, focuses on promoting life skills
  • Creditplus is a leading car finance provider and actively supports the local community
  • Road incidents killed or seriously injured 26,610 people last year, with 8% of those being children

To conclude Child Safety Week, organised annually by the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT), SafeWise and Creditplus have released a guide to keeping children safe near the road, in the car and on a bike. Statistics released by the ONS are a sobering reminder that despite being one of the safest countries for road safety, thousands of people still lose their lives every year in road incidents.

Road safety is a core element of our skills for life programmes. We work closely with our Dorset RoadSafe partners including local authorities, fire and police to communicate vital messages through our ‘discuss, decide and do’ approach which save lives. We are grateful to Creditplus for their practical support in promoting the issue and look forward to a growing partnership with the business in the coming year.
Rob Hattersley, Chief Executive of SafeWise

SafeWise, which was founded in Bournemouth, is a charity dedicated to providing skills for life. With centres in Bournemouth, Weymouth (and Swindon from next year), visitors are encouraged to ‘discuss, decide and do’ in realistic scenarios, such as an indoor street scene including shops, house, bus, beach and train.

Creditplus has fifteen years’ experience in providing the nation with car finance. As part of their community engagement and responsibility in the auto industry, they’ve joined forces with SafeWise to promote road safety.

Road safety is an issue close to our hearts and it’s been our pleasure to support a local charity that addresses these topics with not only awareness, but education for all age groups.
