Forest Holme Hospice Charity gets shortlisted as a finalist for the Smee & Ford Legacy Giving Awards

Forest Holme Hospice Charity is delighted to announce that its animation video led legacy campaign has been shortlisted in the ‘Legacy Project On A Shoestring’ category at the Smee & Ford Legacy Giving Awards 2024, recognising and celebrating their outstanding achievement and skill in the legacy sector.

Working with local full-service agency Top Cat Media, the video was inspired by the experience many patients and their families go through from diagnosis through to end-of-life care, highlighting Forest Holme’s holistic person-centred approach to care.
The story is told through the eyes of a young girl as it follows her grandad’s journey using the different services the hospice provides, including counselling, complementary therapies, community nursing and care on the in-patient ward.

The video was at the centre of a digital media campaign, which included television adverts, to raise awareness about Forest Holme Hospice and promote Gifts In Wills to support the charity.

Paul Tucker, Communications Manager at Forest Holme, said, “We are absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for this award and also want to take this opportunity to offer our gratitude to Top Cat Media for such a fantastic partnership to create a campaign that has been rewarded with national recognition.”

The award entries were reviewed and assessed by a judging panel that includes some of the biggest names from across the charitable legacies community and Polly Avgherinos, Managing Director, Smee & Ford, said, “We extend our congratulations to Forest Holme Hospice Charity for their nomination in the ‘Legacy Project On A Shoestring’ category at the upcoming Smee & Ford Legacy Giving Awards, where we will come together to acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable talent, dedication, and enthusiasm of individuals contributing to the field of legacies. Their impactful work on behalf of legators, charities, and beneficiaries deserves recognition and appreciation.”

The winners will be announced at the Smee & Ford Legacy Giving Awards ceremony, which takes place at Hilton Bankside, London on 18 April 2024.
