Health-On-Line Table Tennis Tournament Scores Over £5000 For Charity

Local health insurer Health-on-Line’s latest charity event – a table tennis tournament – has taken the company’s 2018 charity donations to over £5000.

Organised by the company’s Charity Panel, June’s Table Tennis Tournament involved two group stages followed by a knockout stage, where the best 2 of the 34 contestants battled their way to the final. Department Manager, James, and Sales Manager, Laurie, battled it out for the championship title, with James emerging victorious.

Health-on-Line and its dedicated Charity Panel aim to raise money, both internally and externally, through innovative fundraising activities throughout the year. 2018 has already seen many of the panel’s creative fundraising ideas come to fruition with the success of several events; including a Valentine’s Day Raffle, Sport Relief Rowing Challenge as well as entering two teams into the 10k and half marathon at this year’s Bournemouth Bay Run.

Fiona Carter, a member of the Charity Panel at Health-on-Line said:

“Our chosen charities for 2018 are Dorset Mind and Macmillan Caring Locally. We are committed to supporting these two charities in interesting and creative ways, whilst encouraging all of our staff to get behind these two important causes. We’re proud to have already generated a substantial amount in funds for both charities and can’t wait to raise even more through our upcoming coffee morning, quiz night and football tournament.”

Over the last four years Health-on-Line has supported various charities through its Corporate Social Responsibility programme. During this period the health insurer has raised over £40,000 for the charities chosen by its staff each year. Last year, Health-on-Line supported Diverse Abilities, Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity and the Dementia Ward at Bournemouth Hospital, as well as giving back to the local community by sponsoring events such as Bournemouth Air Festival and Bournemouth Christmas Market. Health-on-Line also have a fund available to support its employees in their own fundraising efforts outside of work, at events such as Tough Mudder.

Next up on the company’s charity agenda is Health-on-Line’s traditional FIFA World Cup celebration. This sees each departmental team given a competing country and tasked with embracing the culture of the nation, for as long as they are in the competition.
