Landlord rolls out app by B4B

Dorset’s largest private landlord has launched a dedicated and interactive app for its residents.

DWP Housing Partnership wanted to give tenants the opportunity of managing their accounts remotely.

The first phase of the app is now launched, allowing payments to be made and available rental properties to be brow

It was created by B4B, a Poole-headquartered firm with staff based here and in mainland Europe.

DWP Housing Partnership has around 3,000 residential units located mainly in Bournemouth, but also in Poole and as far east as New Milton.

After only a few weeks take-up of the app is close to 15 per cent and feedback from users has been positive.

Steve Wells from DWP Housing Partnership, said: “We have had plans for an app for a few years, but Covid led to us accelerating the roll-out.

“It enables tenants to manage their properties from their phone and means they don’t have to come to our offices and this helps reduce the risk of Covid spreading.

“At present tenants can pay their rent, receive reminders and can view available properties.

“In future there will be more things added so people can report faults and fully interact with us.

“Making lives easier for our tenants is helpful for them and of benefit for us, and the app makes it happen.”

Anthony Tilley, founder of B4B, said: “This is a hybrid app and will be added to in the coming months.

“It is extremely secure with a simple payment system and residents will find it easy to use and intuitive.

“Residents can download the app from the usual places and it can be found listed under ‘DWP Housing’.”
