Local Councillor Ryan Holloway Inspires Children with Storytelling at Tops Wareham for World Book Day

Tops Wareham Nursery had the pleasure of hosting a special guest, Councillor Ryan Holloway, on Friday, as part of their World Book Day festivities. The councillor delighted children with captivating stories, fostering a love for reading and imagination.

World Book Day is celebrated annually to promote reading, storytelling, and the joy of books among children. Tops Wareham seized the opportunity to engage their young learners in literary adventures, inviting Councillor Ryan Holloway to share his favourite story, ‘Tiger Who Came for Tea’ with the eager listeners.

Danielle Hewitt, Nursery Manager at Tops Wareham, said “On Friday, we were lucky enough to have a visit at the nursery from Councillor Ryan Holloway as part of our World Book Day celebrations. The children loved listening to the different stories and engaging with Councillor Holloway by talking about the different books and telling him what stories they enjoy reading at home.”

In addition to spreading the joy of reading, Councillor Holloway took the opportunity to discuss important sector issues with Danielle and Stacey Nash, Regional Manager, including the challenges the childcare sector may face with the new funding coming in April. Councillor Holloway is also a member of Corporate Parenting Board on Dorset Council. They also discussed innovative solutions, such as the new project Family hubs across Dorset which is being supported by Councillor Holloway and his co-councillor Beryl Ezzard to establish a family hub in the local Youth centre, aimed at supporting parents and their children.

Quote from Ryan Holloway;

“It was real pleasure again visiting the nursery, reading stories to the children and listening and talking to the staff as well. I very much look forward to coming back in the future.”
