Looking Back At 2019 And Into 2020

It’s the traditional time for telling the world that your business didn’t put a foot wrong in the past year – and next year will be even more wonderful.

TeamJobs managing director, Jason Gault, highlights how this year fared for the recruitment industry.

It has been a challenging year for the industry generally, with clients holding off on making hiring decisions.

“I can’t think of a single client that’s said the wheels have come off because of Brexit or whatever it might be, but I think companies are slightly hesitating or delaying decisions on growth or key hires, just to see the lay of the land,” he says.

What About 2020?

“All businesses need to evolve and when I see some of the recruitment businesses on a regional level that are struggling, it is because of complacency and accepting that was was done 10 years ago, still applies today.” says Jason.

“There are still a lot of recruitment agents trying to be a bit too high street, a bit too transactional.”

“Businesses want more. They want partnership, they want companies that can bring more to them than just ‘We have sourced many CVs to choose from, which one would you like to interview?’

Those companies who will win will be those who find strong alliances. It can be done.
