Model Show at The Tank Museum

In what was the most successful spring South West Model Show ever, over 3000 people flocked to The Tank Museum this weekend to meet the Daleks and experience a weekend packed with scale modelling activities and demonstrations, from across the modelling spectrum.

Surrounded by real tanks and armoured vehicles, various talks were on offer. Visitors got to grips with key modelling techniques, including painting, airbrushing and choosing the right kit according to skill level.

Arts University Bournemouth attended to present talks on a range of model making skills and techniques which support the different areas of professional model making, including a 3D printing demonstration. PLUS the Charity Dalek Squad offered Dalek Q&A sessions with life-size Daleks.

The South West Model Show was also the perfect opportunity to explore The Tank Museum’s ten powerful exhibitions, including a guided tour of the ‘Tommy in the Trenches’ exhibition.

Events Manager, Rosanna Dean said, “For generations, people have made model kits and been inspired to visit The Tank Museum to see the real thing. This event combined two great passions; modelling and military history.”

If you missed the spring South West Model Show, then be sure to visit the autumn show in October 2020.
