Morebus driver Steve Self is celebrating this month, after receiving national recognition from the country’s largest operator of scheduled coach services.
Steve drives for National Express, under Morebus’ contract to run the coach firm’s services to and from the Bournemouth and Poole area. And now he’s been named ‘Driver of the Month’ for the whole of the UK, after impressing both customers and bosses with his professional and friendly manner.
‘This is a great accolade for Steve, who I have come to know as an exceptionally professional colleague,” said Morebus general manager Adam Keen. “Steve is everything you would want from your coach driver – he’s smart, friendly, sensible and helpful.
“He operates the 205 and 206 routes that serve Heathrow and Gatwick respectively, providing important links from Poole and Bournemouth to international airports. Alongside recent investment in new, larger, coaches and an improved timetable, Steve helps ensure that travel with National Express is effortless, comfortable and enjoyable.”
Steve added: “I’m very fortunate to really enjoy my work – and I love nothing more than making sure our customers travel in style and comfort when they head up to the airports from the south coast. It’s a matter of pride, for myself, for Morebus, and for National Express – and I’m delighted that people are happy with my conduct.”
