New Bladder Scanner Helping Patients At Poole Hospital

Poole Hospital now has a new piece of equipment in helping to ensure more precise and targeted treatment.

A Bladder Scanner has been purchased which is an alternative to other forms of bladder examination as the scan can be used to help assess patients and their requirements.

“Thanks to the donation from J.P. Morgan, we’ve been able to purchase this vital piece of equipment, improving care for patients undergoing radiotherapy as part of their cancer treatment,” says Sara Fripp, Corporate Fundraiser, Poole Hospital Charity.

J.P. Morgan donated £2,000 towards the cost and another significant contribution was made through the fundraising efforts of Sam Kerslake and her father Ray, who have organised a bi-annual fundraising event – Party in the Paddock, which, along with support from other local businesses and the local community, has raised a total of nearly £11,000.

Russell Palmer, a member of the J.P. Morgan Community Relations Committee was able to go along to the Hospital to see the scanner.

“We are delighted to have helped in the funding of this equipment. The Hospital advises it will give the ability to ensure precise and targeted treatment on a daily basis which will benefit patients and staff here in the Radiotherapy unit.”

(J.P. Morgan employs 4,000 people at its technology and operations centre in Bournemouth and has a strong history of community engagement).
