Partnering up for Volunteer Week

The Beehive, Diverse Abilities day and therapy centre in Poole, will be opening its doors and welcoming volunteers from the Waste Management Facilities Limited (WMF) next week to mark volunteer week.

The team will spend time chatting with adults supported at The Beehive, helping out with the café sessions, serving food and drinks, and helping wash up at the end of the day.

Clare Miller, Finance Director at WMF, speaks of the special partnership: “Diverse Abilities is an incredible local charity which has touched the hearts of everyone here at WMF. Alongside sponsorship and fundraising, we wanted to look at other ways we can help. Volunteer days are the perfect way to do this and a real incentive to our staff that may not otherwise get the chance to volunteer. We can’t wait to help out with the fun activities run by the team at The Beehive and to meet more of the team and the people they support.”

Diverse Abilities’ Corporate and Community Fundraiser, Daisy Roe, said: “We are pleased to be able to offer one of our corporate partners the opportunity to volunteer for a week within our services. It is a wonderful opportunity for WMF to see where the vital funds they raise will go, and the adults at The Beehive love the chance to interact with new people.”

Diverse Abilities are WMF Limited’s charity of the year for 2019.
